A Renaissance Inspired Capture

tampa portrait artist, renaissance inspired portrait, portrait session, plus size portraits

"Life tried to crush her, but only succeeded in creating a diamond." anon.

When sources of inspiration strike, it wouldn't be right not to follow them. This Renaissance-inspired portrait came from passing by an unnamed painting one day. The lighting, pose, and composition caught my eye and I decided to give it a go in my home studio.

One of the lovely women I have worked with before joined me on this simple creative exploration and used the time to refine her renaissance look as a makeup artist. This session also served as a respite from teaching days, which we chatted about, sharing our classroom experiences.

This setup used one light to the right. Velvet fabrics were draped in the background on a photo stand and over the subject.
